If you’ve spent any time on the Space Coast, chances are you’ve heard of Dixie Crossroads in Titusville. This legendary seafood restaurant has been around for decades, drawing locals and tourists alike with its fresh seafood, casual atmosphere, and a touch of Old Florida charm. I’ve been meaning to revisit it for a while, and I finally made the trip. Let me tell you—it did not disappoint!
A Little History
Dixie Crossroads first opened in 1983, founded by Rodney and Sheryl Thompson. From the beginning, the restaurant’s focus was on high-quality seafood, especially Florida’s famous wild-caught rock shrimp. Over the years, its reputation has only grown, thanks to its commitment to fresh ingredients, generous portions, and a family-friendly setting. Even today, it remains a must-visit spot in Titusville, not just for seafood lovers but for anyone who enjoys great food with a welcoming vibe.

The Menu: A Seafood Lover’s Dream
Walking into Dixie Crossroads, you immediately feel at home. The décor is casual, with a nautical theme, and the service is friendly and efficient. But let’s be real—the real star here is the food.
One of the first things to hit the table was their famous corn fritters, lightly dusted with powdered sugar. These little bites of heaven are complimentary, and it’s nearly impossible to stop at just one.
For my entrée, I decided on the flounder stuffed with lobster stuffing, and wow—what a fantastic choice. The flounder was perfectly cooked, flaky, and tender, while the rich lobster stuffing added a luxurious touch. If you love seafood, this dish is an absolute must-try.
I also had a cup of their clam chowder, which was creamy, flavorful, and packed with tender clams. Some places skimp on the seafood in their chowder, but not here. Every bite was full of that comforting, savory goodness.
Of course, no trip to Dixie Crossroads is complete without their signature rock shrimp. These little morsels, often described as tasting like tiny lobsters, are what put this restaurant on the map. You can order them broiled or fried, and either way, they’re delicious.
Why It’s Stood the Test of Time
Dixie Crossroads has been a Space Coast staple for more than 40 years for a good reason. The food is consistently excellent, the portions are generous, and the service is always warm and welcoming. Whether you’re stopping in after a day at Kennedy Space Center, driving up from Melbourne, or making a special trip from Orlando, it’s well worth the visit.
If you haven’t been to Dixie Crossroads yet, do yourself a favor and go. And if it’s been a while since your last visit, maybe it’s time for a seafood feast!
